                                   AWARENESS PROGRAMME 

The students of the first year MSc Botany took part in the hygiene awareness programme for the ALCA School students to bring in the importance of cleanliness under the guidance of the P.G department of Botany on the 24th of September, 2018.






                
     HANDS ON TRAINING IN BONSAI PLANTS -MAKING AND GROWING

      
      The students of P.G. Botany Department attended a two day training Programme on “ Hands On Training In Bonsai Plants Making And growing”, held at Railway function hall, accompanied by the faculty members, Mr. K. Sankar, Dr. Praveen Kumar and   Dr. Ch. Chinnappa on the 15th and 16th of September 2018.  










                                                     AGRICULTURAL EXPO-UDAYANA 2018

             Students from the P.G. Botany Department attended a one day workshop on ”Agricultural Expo” called “Udayana 2018”, accompanied by Mr. K. Sankar, The Head Of The Department on 26th of August , 2018







                       EXPERIMENT APPROACH ON VRIKSHAAVARAN

The  first year students of the Department of Botany attended  a two day National workshop on “ Experimental Approach On Vrikshaavaran” organised by the department of Botany at the Siddhartha College Of Arts And Science on the 17th and 18th of August 2018.

Sankar,  for the Degree and P.G students of Botany department under the guidance of Dr. Ch. Tulasi as a resourse person in our college,  on the 17th of July,2018

PHYTORESOURCES CONSERVATION PHYTODIVERSITY

ONE DAY SEMINAR ON PHYTORESOURCES CONSERVATION PHOTODIVERSITY OF EASTERN GHATS OF INDIA

The students of second year P.G took part in one day seminar in Marie Stella College from the department of Botany and Chemistry on the 17th of  August 2018 on the topic ' PHYTORESOURCES CONSERVATION PHOTO DIVERSITY OF EASTERN GHATS OF INDIA'. It started around 9.30 a.m . We had three resource persons for the day. The first resource person was Dr. Ravi Prasad who spoke on'Wealth Of Plant Resources' , especially of Andhra Pradesh, their history and conservation. 
The second resource person was Dr. Amratha Amarvalli from the Department of Microbiology, Nagarjuna University. She spoke on ' Conservation And Sustainable Utility Of Phytoresources, Abiotic and Biotic Stress On Plant Growth And Avenues For  Crop Improvement' 
The third talk was given by A.N. Simbeshwari, Curator, Botanical Garden, Bangalore. He spoke on the Floral wealth of Western Ghats. 
The students took part in Poster and Paper Presentations . We came to widen our knowledge on plant resources and were proud to be Botany students.

 VRUKSHA 2018

P.G Department of Botany has organized VRUKSHA -2018. A one-day Seminar on 'Dynamism of plants in the present millennium' held on 7th Feb. 2018 and academic competitions were conducted in poster presentation, quiz, essay writing, drawing, collage, and slogan writing. Nearly 350 students has actively participated in all competitions.

This day aimed at raising awareness about the significance of plants and threat to them by Anthropogenic activities and provided some creative measures to protect our green planet for the future.
Dr. K. Srirama Murthy, Principal Scientist, ShivaShakti Biotechnologies Ltd., Hyderabad has delivered a lecture on–“Application of Plant Tissue Culture in Commercial Production of Medicinal Agro-forest Species”
Dr. P. Veera Bramha Chari, Faculty and Head, Department of Biotechnology, Krishna university, Machilipatnam has delivered a lecture on  -“Quorum sensing signalling mechanism in plant pathogenic bacteria : a cross talk between plants and microbes”
 We ended our programme with the Valedictory Function.
