Fossils Collection


                           Department of Botany (P.G), Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous) has organized a place visit for Fossil Collection in Ommevaram near Ongole, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 09 students have been registered and 07 students have been actively participated in this Fossil Collection.  One of our faculty members Dr.Chinnapa guide and lead the students to collect fossils.  Students actively participated and collected the fossils with much enthusiasm.

                       Department of Botany (P.G), Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous) has organized a One Day NATIONAL WEBINAR titled “AN OVER VIEW ON PLANT TAXONOMY” on 20-08-2020 at 2.30PM to 4.00PM via Google Meet. Nearly 553 participants have been registered and 285 participants have been actively participated in this National webinar. Faculty members, Research Scholars and Students, as well as other National Educational and Research Institutions participated in the National webinar. Dr. Karuppusamy S., Asst. Prof. Department of Botany The Madura College Madurai, Tamil Nadu was the Speaker for this event. The webinar was very informative, fruitful and provided a platform for the exchange of ideas. The department is very much anxious to organize such webinar in the coming future for the benefit of the Students, Faculty and Research Scholars.

                Department of Botany (P.G), Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous) has organized a One Day NATIONAL WEBINAR titled “RECENT TRENDS IN PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATIONS” on 15-07-2020 at 2.30PM to 4.00PM via Google Meet. Nearly 432 participants have been registered and 102 participants have been actively participated in this National webinar. Faculty members, Research Scholars and Students, as well as other National Educational and Research Institutions participated in the National webinar. Dr. Yuvraj Indoliya, Department of Agronomy, University of Florida, Gainesville, USA was the Speaker for this event. The webinar was very informative, fruitful and provided a platform for the exchange of ideas. The department is very much anxious to organize such webinar in the coming future for the benefit of the Students, Faculty and Research Scholars.

               Department of Botany (U.G & P.G), Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous) has organized a One day NATIONAL WEBINAR titled “BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION DURING COVID-19” on 13-06-2020 at 10.00AM to 12.30PM via Zoom App. Nearly 1056 participants has been registered and 703 participants has been actively participated in this National webinar. Faculty members, Research Scholars and Students, as well as other National Educational and Research Institutions participated in the National webinar. Majeti Narasimha Vara Prasad currently working as Emeritus Professor, School of life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, Dr.Pandu. Brahmaji Rao working as Associate Professor Dept. of Environmental Sciences, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, and Dr.Kothareddy Prasad from Botanical Survey of India Central National Herbarium Howrah (Kolkata), are the Speakers for this event. The webinar was very informative, fruitful and provided a platform for the exchange of ideas. The department is very much anxious to organize such webinar in the coming future for the benefit of the Students, Faculty and Research Scholars.

                 Department of Botany (P.G), Andhra Loyola College (Autonomous) has organized a NATIONAL LEVEL QUIZ titled “COVID-19 ONLINE AWARENESS QUIZ” on 05-05-2020 at 10.00AM. Faculty members, Research Scholars and Students from different colleges has actively participated in this quiz. Nearly 2186 participants have participated in this quiz. This quiz was conducted to provide a platform regarding Awareness on COVID-19.
